AFCAT 2019
AFCAT or Air Force Common Aptitude Test is conducted by Indian Air Force twice every year to select eligible candidates for the following posts:
- Flying Branch
- Ground Duty (Technical)
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical)
Being a part of this elite force in Indian Defence Services, a lot of aspirants fill out the application form every year, but only a chosen few are awarded with the designation of Group A Gazetted Officer in Indian Air Force. AFCAT Notification 2019
AFCAT Notification was released on 1st December 2018. AFCAT 1 Exam will be conducted on 16th & 17th February 2019 and the Admit Card for the same will be issued soon to the aspirants. AFCAT Apply Online 2019
AFCAT 2019 Online Application started on 1st December 2018. The Online Application ended on 30th December 2018. If on verification at any time before or after the written examination or AFSB Testing, it is found that they do not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature will be cancelled by the IAF

AFCAT Application Fee
To successfully submit the Online Application form for AFCAT 2019 Exam, a candidate must pay the required Application Fee. AFCAT Application Fee for candidates belonging to GENERAL/OBC category is Rs. 200/-. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Female Category are exempted from paying any application fee for the AFCAT 1 exam.

Note: There are no intake conduct for Meteorology and Education branches for AFCAT 01/2019 for course commencing in January 2020.
Types of Commission
There are two types of Commission offered through AFCAT Exam by Indian Air Force. Let's have a look at the same.
Permanent Commission (PC) for Men: Candidates joining as PC officers would continue to serve till the age of superannuation in their respective branches as per their rank.
Short Service Commission (SC) for Men & Women: The engagement period for Flying Branch (Men and Women) SSC Officers is fourteen years from the date of Commissioning (Non extendable). The initial tenure for Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) SSC Officers would be for a period of ten years. An extension of four years may be granted subject to service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability and merit.
AFCAT Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for AFCAT Exam 2019, a candidate must be be:
- a Citizen of India
- Must fulfill Physical and Medical Standards
- Must fulfill Height & Weight Parameters
- Must fulfill Visual Standards for Flying Branch
Age Criteria
Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: A candidate must be 20 to 24 years as on 01 Jan 2020 i.e. born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2000 (both dates inclusive).Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1994 to 01 January 2000 (both dates inclusive).
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: A candidate must be 20 to 26 years as on 01 Jan 2020 i.e. born between 02 January 1994 to 01 January 2000 (both dates inclusive)
Marital Status of Candidate
Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of course. Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible. Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible to apply but during training period they will neither be provided married accommodation nor can they live out with family.

AFCAT 2019 will be conducted in two stages:
- AFACT
- EKT (For Ground Duty Technical Branch Only)
To be accepted for the posts offered by Indian Air Force through AFCAT 1 Exam 2019, one must score minimum qualifying marks both in written test and AFSB test as prescribed by the IAF. Candidates will be selected on the marks secured by them in both AFCAT & EKT.
